Whitewright’s Economic Development Board (4A) has a mission to stimulate growth of our local economy by locating, inducing and assisting businesses making location decisions.  Joining with our city and community development, we recognize the importance of a strong, cooperative partnership.  We work together to ensure continued growth and development for our city.  Our goal is to grow and diversify the Whitewright and surrounding area economies through the addition of new jobs, industry and investment of primary employers. 

Our economic development board, through acquiring land and offering available financing, helped bring to our city a new manufacturing company.  The company worked with our economic development group to bring to life a business, which would enhance our economy as well as offer new jobs. 

The Whitewright Economic Development Board (4A) has since begun a project to restore two downtown buildings.  This restoration helps to enhance the beauty of our downtown area and is now home to The Whitewright Visitor’s Center and The Whitewright Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Corporation is a non-proft, industrial development corporation under the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979 (the Act) and is governed by Section 4A of the Act.

The Corporation is organized exclusively for the purpose of benefiting and accomplishing public purposes of the City of Whitewright, Texas, by promoting, assisting and enhancing economic development activities for the City as provided by the Act.

The affairs of the Corporation are managed by a board of directors appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the governing body of the City. Current board members are: C.C. Beasley (Chair), Cathy Pierce (Secretary), Joe Cureton, Allen West, Greg Allen, and Brett Christoffel.
