Join your Whitewright Area Chamber of Commerce for our 2013 Awards Banquet to be held in the commons at Whitewright High School. Spend a nice evening with your favorite person, neighbors and/or business associates for an evening of dining, a bit of entertainment, and a time to acknowledge those who impact our community. Grand Street Fall Festival NOVEMBER 2nd, 2013
Upwards of 100 Vendors including Artists, Crafts, Honey and a whole lot more will fill the streets. Get your Christmas shopping started early and many of the downtown merchants will be open as well offering antiques, resale, art and gifts of many kinds. Food vendors O’ plenty will be on hand serving up some of the finest and unusual festival food you will find anywhere. We are glad to offer Free Admission, Free Parking. Kids’ fun will be all around with fun things for them to see and do including: Train Rides, 25 foot Rock Wall, Giant Slide, Obstacle Course, Face Painting & more! Live Entertainment will be on the main stage all day. Classic Car Show with dozens of beautiful classic autos of all kinds.
Small Business Saturday November 23rd
Immediately Following "Black Friday" Spend your money where it matters most, in your own community with locally owned independent businesses. Keep your local economy growing and buy gifts and services from your neighbors.
Lighting of the Lights December 5th
will take place on Thursday December 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the Nature Park. There will once again be free hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies. PLUS the opportunity for children to take pictures with Santa! Also our local churches will sing Christmas Carols and you are welcome to join in! Questions call the chamber. We hope to see you then!
Christmas Parade December 7th
Join us for our annual Christmas Parade through downtown Whitewright! Our theme this Colors of Christmas. We are encouraging one and all to create floats based on this year’s theme. They can be pulled by mule, horse, tractor, auto, or anything you can think of. We will also have plenty of non-floats in the parade as well. Applications will be available here.
So get together with your church, organization, business, or family & friends and register to take part in this time honored tradition. The parade will start at the American Legion Hall and travel North up Bond and West on Grand. Parade participants are to be at the American Legion hall for line up between 7:00 am and 8:00 am with judging from 8:00-8:30 and the parade at 9:00 am.
